NAQT Southeast at Auburn-Montgomery
Team
Fifteen teams participated in this tournament. They were divided into three groups of four and one of three, such that all teams from any given school were in the same division. No schools in the same division played each other until the last round, when on intradivisional match was held so that everyone would have twelve games. As best laid plans often go, this meant that of the top five teams, the ones tied for second place and the ones tied for fourth place never faced each other in the round robin, meaning that total points determined the order of finish (which had implications for the playoff round, too).
In the order of finish, teams with the same record are assumed to have met head-to-head unless there is a "Total Points" section afterwards:

Georgetown College won the championship, beating the University of Louisville in the 2 out of 3 final (both were their A teams). Third was the University of Kentucky's A team, and UofL's B team was fourth.

After the ninth round, the top four schools (Kentucky A, Louisville A, Louisville B, Georgetown A) were placed in semifinal play. (Louisville A beat Kentucky A, and Louisville B beat Lexington CC, settling the tiebrakers.) UofL A beat UofL B 2-1 and Georgetown A beat Kentucky A 2-1 in the semis. Kentucky A beat UofL B 2-0 for third place; Georgetown A beat Louisville A 2-1 in the finals.
The other five schools entered round-robin. Henderson CC decided to leave, forfeiting their matches. Their opponents were awarded with zero-point, zero-question wins (although I did not count that game for individual statistics). The last match in the round robin put Cumberland and Lexington CC, the two consolation undefeateds together, with Cumberland winning that match.

ELIMINATION ROUND - The top three places from each round plus the highest scoring 4th place team (Ohio Wesleyan) advanced into Group A, which would compete for the championship. The remaining fifteen teams were put into Groups B and C and would compete for the consoloation championship. Games in Group A involving other Group A teams carried over, while Groups B and C started with clean records.

In the consolation playoffs, MSU Libya defeated Chicago C 165 to 155 while BGSU A defeated Northwestern B 125 to 110. Both games were decided on the final question. In the consolation finals, MSU Libya defeated BGSU A 235 to 70.
In the championship playoffs, the lone semifinal saw Michigan Lather defeat Ohio State 290 to 150. The finals pit Michigan Lather vs. Chicago A. Both teams put up 100 point runs during the game and 6 different people combined for 9 power tossups. With the score at Chicago 350, Michigan 315, Michigan answered the final tossup but could only get 15 on the bonus, giving Chicago the Mideast Sectional Championship 350 to 340. Chicago went 16-0 during the day.
