NAQT is pleased to announce that it is now accepting bids from institutions to host the 2009 Community College Sectional Championship Tournaments (CC SCTs) on the weekend of January 23-25, 2009 (Friday-Sunday). NAQT expects that most of these tournaments will be single-day, Saturday events.

The CC SCTs are the principal means by which community college teams will qualify for the 2009 Community College Championship Tournament (and, through it, for the 2009 Intercollegiate Championship Tournament).

The host requirements have changed slightly from last year; hosts and attending teams should read them carefully and make sure that all of their provisions are clear. Please contact NAQT at sct@naqt.com if any clarification is needed.

To submit a bid, send the following information to NAQT at hosting@naqt.com by September 30, 2008:

• Addresses, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses for one faculty contact or two student contacts
• Estimated maximum field size
• Brief list of recent tournaments hosted
• Specific plans (if any) for recruiting new teams to the CC SCTs
• Positive assertion that all contacts have completely read the host requirements

Schools may also bid to host a four-year SCT.
