2002 HSNCT Results
St. John's School of Houston, TX defeated Irmo (SC) HS 355-325 in a thrilling final match to win its first NAQT High School National Championship. The two teams had qualified for the final by tying for first at 5-2 in a very competitive eight team round-robin playoff format. The third-place game featured a rematch of last year's final between Detroit Catholic Central and Detroit Country Day, with Catholic Central repeating last year's triumph with a 490-175 victory.
In the contest for the inaugural Top Small School, three teams, Kent City (MI) HS, Cutter Morning Star HS (Hot Springs, AR), and Drummond (OK) HS A all finished Saturday's games tied at 5-5. Cutter Morning Star defeated Drummond in a semifinal, but Kent City won the final by a score of 285-95 to claim the title.
