2002-2003 High School National Championship Tournament

National Academic Quiz Tournaments, LLC, is pleased to announce that next year's High School National Championship Tournament (HSNCT) will be held on the weekend of May 31-June 1, 2003 (Saturday/Sunday). The tournament will be hosted by the City of Myrtle Beach and will be held at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.

NAQT looks forward to welcoming teams to its fifth National Championship in one of the country's premier tourist spots. As was the case at last year's tournament, in addition to the overall championship, NAQT will present the "Top Small School" award. To be eligible for the Top Small School award, schools must have an enrollment of fewer than 500 students and a non-selective admission policy.

Tournament and logistical details will be announced later, but teams may expect that the format and overall tournament structure will be similar to the 2002 event.

Teams may qualify for the 2003 HSNCT by finishing highly at NAQT qualifying events (schedule) held throughout the year or by doing well at their respective state championships. Teams may also apply to NAQT for wildcard consideration.

The defending champions are St. John's School of Houston, TX for the overall championship and Kent City (MI) as top small school.

Teams interested in hosting qualifying events should contact NAQT in order to reserve question sets.

NAQT is looking for volunteers to help staff this event.
