2010 NAQT High School National Championship Results

The Maggie L. Walker Governor's School for Government and International Studies (Richmond, VA) defeated State College (PA) Area High School 380-355 in the final to claim the 2010 NAQT High School National Championship. This is the second national championship for Maggie Walker and coach John Barnes, as they previously took the 2007 title. The Liberal Arts and Science Academy (Austin, TX) finished third after narrowly defeating Bellarmine College Prep (San Jose, CA) in a final placement game, and Paul M. Dorman High School (Roebuck, SC) and Georgetown Day School (Washington, DC) rounded out the top five.

In the Small School division, South Range High School (North Lima, OH) won consecutive games over 2008 champion from Russell (KY) High School in the championship series to claim their first Top Small School Award. Kate Duncan Smith DAR High School (Grant, AL) claimed the third-place trophy via a 5-point victory over Rocky Grove High School (Franklin, PA).

The tournament, held at Chicago's Hyatt Regency O'Hare hotel, ran from May 28-30 and featured 200 teams from 165 schools located in 35 states plus the District of Columbia and Canada. NAQT would like to thank all of the volunteer staffers who helped make the tournament a success.
