2005 ICT and HSNCT Volunteer Call

National Academic Quiz Tournaments, LLC is pleased to announce that it is looking for volunteers interested in helping staff its 2005 Intercollegiate Championship Tournament (ICT) (to be held April 8-9, 2005, in New Orleans) and its 2005 High School National Championship Tournament (HSNCT) (date and location TBA).

NAQT is primarily looking for moderators, scorekeepers, and statisticians, but will certainly consider people with other skills necessary for running a tournament.

NAQT regrets that its resources are limited and cannot guarantee that all volunteers will be accepted; it will base its decision on staffer experience, enthusiasm, and cost of transportation. NAQT is happy to cover airfare (if necessary) and lodging at the tournament, but is unable to cover meals or provide an additional stipend for volunteers. Nonetheless, it is a chance to watch the best teams in quiz bowl compete, see a new city, take a cheap trip, and, for many, stay in touch with old friends.

2. Full contact information (address, phone, e-mail address)
3. Whether you are interested in the ICT, HSNCT, or both
4. Your current school/institutional affiliation and, if applicable, your academic year
5. Whether you would require airfare and, if so, a list of the airports out of which you could fly
6. A brief summary of the roles that you have played in running quiz bowl tournaments in the past, particularly official, timed NAQT events.
7. An indication that you are very familiar with NAQT's rules.
