Official Events: Reporting Results

Hosts running Official Events (including most high school state championships), must report the following statistics via e-mail to results@naqt.com:

Within 24 hours of the completion of the event, the host must report for each competing team: division, institution, team name, team designation ("A", "B", etc.), games won, games lost, and final order of finish. For collegiate tournaments the graduate/undergraduate status of each team must be reported as well.

Within three days of the completion of the event, the host must report full team statistics for each team; this consists of: division, institution, team name, team designation ("A", "B", etc.), coach name, coach (or representative) contact information, games won (noting number of wins by forfeit), games lost (noting number of losses by forfeit), total points scored, total power tossups, total non-power tossups, total interrupts, total tossups heard, and final order of finish. In addition, the host must submit a brief, but complete, description of the format used including the field's division into brackets and the results of any tie-breaker matches or criteria used to decide play-off spots or rebracketing.

Within seven days of the completion of the event, the host must report full individual statistics consisting of: full player name, team played for, year in school, total power tossups, total non-power tossups, total interrupts, total tossups heard, and games appeared in.

In reporting team and individual statistics, do not include statistics for tossups played to decide tied games and do not include "tiebreaker" games unless they are complete games and played according to normal NAQT rules. Do indicate the results of such "tiebreaker" games in the tournament summary.

NAQT also requests, but does require, that hosts report any interesting or extraordinary circumstances that arise including extremely offensive behavior by teams or lengthy protests. NAQT also requests that hosts forward information about any erroneous or misleading questions found in the set. Such errors should be sent to errata@naqt.com.
