Free High School Questions for Expansion Areas
To continue the rapid growth of quiz bowl, NAQT offers free tournament questions for any high school tournament that is more than 90 miles (as the crow flies) from the nearest open tournament in 2018–2019 that was a qualifier for the High School National Championship Tournament (HSNCT).
(The use of 2018–2019 reflects the fact that that was the most recent “normal” competition year relative to the COVID-19 pandemic.)
The following map shows 90-mile circles around open HSNCT qualifiers in 2018–2019. Any high school tournament in a location not covered up is eligible for free standard NAQT questions.
The questions come with all the usual benefits of hosting a tournament with NAQT questions including a listing on the NAQT online schedule, our free registration system, and qualifier status for the High School National Championship Tournament and Small School National Championship Tournament.
Hosts may choose NAQT’s Introductory Invitational Series (questions targeted at less experienced teams) or regular Invitational Series (aimed at established teams). Samples of both kinds of packets are available.
Hosts taking advantage of this offer must submit results in accordance with NAQT’s results-reporting guidelines.
Online tournaments are generally not eligible for this offer, but if you are interested in running an online tournament to extend the reach of quiz bowl, write to firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss the possibility of free questions.
