2020 Middle School National Championship Tournament: Canceled

NAQT regrets to inform the quiz bowl community of the cancellation of the 2020 Middle School National Championship Tournament, which had been scheduled to take place May 8–10, 2020 at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare. NAQT is following the advice from the Centers for Disease Controls and Prevention to cancel events involving 50 or more people through at least May 10.

All registered teams who have already paid will receive a refund. No cancellation fees will be charged for the 2020 MSNCT; any cancellation fees we have collected will be returned.

We have also canceled three other 2020 national championships. We still hope to run the 2020 High School National Championship Tournament, but we will continue to monitor the situation over the coming weeks; if we can run it in a way that is safe for the participants and responsible from a public health perspective, we will do so. We encourage everyone to make fully refundable travel arrangements. Please read about our safety procedures and refund policies for the HSNCT.

We know this decision is disappointing to everyone who was looking forward to competing at the 2020 MSNCT. We hope the quiz bowl community stays safe and healthy, and we look forward to seeing all of you at future NAQT events.
