The Small School National Championship Tournament (SSNCT) is NAQT’s annual championship event for small high schools. The tournament is toward the end of each school year and features the top small school quiz bowl teams from across the United States (and beyond).

Teams qualify for the SSNCT by their performance at regular-season tournaments using questions supplied by NAQT.

The 2021 SSNCT was held online on April 24–25. The champion of the 40-team Traditional Public Schools Division was Westmont (Illinois), who also won the Very Small Schools title. The champion of the 50-team Open Division was the A team from St. Mark’s School of Texas (Dallas).

The 2022 SSNCT will be held on Friday–Sunday, April 22–24 at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare in Rosemont, Illinois (near Chicago).

Schools that are too large to attend the SSNCT may be interested in the High School National Championship Tournament (HSNCT), which is open to essentially every school that overlaps grades 9 through 12.
