NAQT New College Package
National Academic Quiz Tournaments, LLC, is pleased to announce that it is offering a discounted package to colleges and universities with new quiz bowl teams to help them get started. Similar packages are available for new high school teams and new community college teams.
The package includes:
The full 2008-2009 NAQT Intramural set (15 packets). These are introductory questions that can be used for an on-campus tournament involving teams from dorm floors, clubs, fraternities, the honors program, and so forth. This is a way for the team to publicize its existence to the institution as a whole as well as to scout the student body for potential varsity team players.
A set of Speed Check questions (SC#17; 10 packets). These are short, easy questions intended to be played by inexperienced players at the beginning of the year when they need to "warm up" to the lockout system.
A complete 2007-2008 Invitational Series (IS #68; 15 packets). These are the questions used by college juniorbird and CUT-style tournaments through the year. They are a little harder than the intramural questions and are intended for serious players in the school's quiz bowl club who plan on traveling to tournaments during the year.
The full 2008 Division II Sectional Championship Tournament (SCT) set (16 packets). These are the questions that last year's new teams faced at Sectionals where they attempted to qualify for the Division II Intercollegiate Championship Tournament (ICT). They are intended for use by the school's top team (or teams) in December and January to prepare for Sectionals.
A set of Frequency List study guides that list the 3,599 works of literature, art, and music that have been mentioned most frequently in NAQT's questions since our founding in 1996. These will help team members focus their preparation for invitational tournaments, Sectionals, and (if they are successful!) Nationals.
An assortment of administrative materials including NAQT's official Rules, NAQT's Eligibility Rules, NAQT's article on starting a new team, a scoresheet, NAQT's most recent newsletter (which contains a coupon for ordering more practice questions), and more.
The new school package thus contains questions for every facet of a school's first year "on the circuit," from intramural teams that have never competed before to the school's top four players who are preparing for the 2009 Sectionals. It contains a total of 56 game packets with over 2,600 questions of varying degrees of difficulty.
The total cost of the package, including shipping, is $149. If purchased separately, the total cost of the components would be $415; the new school package thus represents a 64% discount.
The new college package may be ordered either through NAQT's online ordering system or by calling us at 888.411.6278.
If you have any questions about this offer or the process of starting a team, please don't hesitate to contact NAQT at naqt@naqt.com.
