Individual Player National Championship Tournament
Quiz bowl is usually a team game, but the Individual Player National Championship Tournament (IPNCT) welcomes individual players to see how their knowledge, reflexes, and anticipation stack up against those of other elite competitors.
The tournament is intended for high school players, but ambitious middle school players are welcome too. No prior qualification is required. (In 2019, 2021, and 2022 a separate Middle School Division was offered.)
The 2022 IPNCT was held in Rosemont, Illinois (near Chicago) April 3. The High School Division champion was Karsten Ullr Rynearson of Phillips Academy (Andover, Massachusetts). The Middle School Division champion was Pranavkrishna Bharanidharan of the California Montessori Project, Orangevale Campus (Orangevale, California).
The 2023 IPNCT will be Sunday, April 2 at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare in Rosemont, Illinois (near Chicago). There will only be a High School Division (though ambitious middle school players are welcome).
