Individual Player National Championship Tournament

Quiz bowl is usually a team game, but NAQT created the Individual Player National Championship Tournament (IPNCT) in 2018 to let individual players see how their knowledge, reflexes, and anticipation stacked up against those of other elite competitors.

The first IPNCT was limited to high school players, but subsequent events, starting with 2019's championship, will have separate divisions for high school (grades 9-12) and middle school (grades 8 and below) players. All students are eligible to compete at the IPNCT, and no prior qualification is required.

The 2018 IPNCT was held on Sunday, April 15 at Hyatt Regency O’Hare near Chicago. Jack Lewis, a senior at Battle Ground Academy of Franklin, Tennessee, won the tournament.

The 2019 IPNCT, powered by LetterOne, will be held at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare in Rosemont, Illinois (near Chicago) on Sunday, April 7.
