New College Package
NAQT offers a discounted package to colleges with new quiz bowl teams to help them get started. Similar packages are available for new middle school teams, new high school teams, and new community college teams.
The package includes…
- A set of Speed Check questions (SC #66; 12 packets). These are short, easy questions intended to be played by inexperienced players at the beginning of the year when they need to “warm up” to the buzzer system.
- Two complete Collegiate Novice Series sets (CNS #177C and CNS #186C; 12 packets each). These are the questions used by college novice tournaments through the year (especially during the fall semester), and are intended for serious players in the school’s quiz bowl club who plan on traveling to tournaments during the year.
- The full 2020 Division II Sectional Championship Tournament (SCT) set (16 packets). These are the questions that teams faced at the SCT where they attempted to qualify for the Division II Intercollegiate Championship Tournament (ICT), though the ICT was subsequently canceled. They are intended for use by the school’s top team (or teams) in December and January to prepare for the SCT.
- An abbreviated set of Frequency List study guides that list the works of literature, art, and music that have been frequently mentioned in NAQT’s questions since our founding in 1996. These will help team members focus their preparation for invitational tournaments, the SCT, and (if they are successful!) the Intercollegiate Championship Tournament. These lists are shortened versions of the full frequency lists sold by NAQT.
The new school package thus contains questions for every facet of a school’s first year “on the circuit,” from new players that have never competed before to the school’s top four players who are preparing for Sectionals. It contains a total of 52 packets with 2,400 questions of varying degrees of difficulty.
The total cost of the package, including shipping, is $119.
