NAQT New College Package
National Academic Quiz Tournaments, LLC, is pleased to announce that it is offering a discounted package to colleges and universities with new quiz bowl teams to help them get started. Similar packages are available for new middle school teams, new high school teams, and new community college teams.
The package includes:
The full 2016–2017 NAQT Intramural set (15 packets). These are introductory questions that can be used for an on-campus tournament involving teams from dorm floors, clubs, fraternities, the honors program, and so forth. This is a way for the team to publicize its existence to the institution as a whole as well as to scout the student body for potential varsity team players. This set will be available October 1, 2016.
A set of Speed Check questions (SC #47; 10 packets). These are short, easy questions intended to be played by inexperienced players at the beginning of the year when they need to “warm up” to the lockout system.
A complete 2015–2016 College Novice Series (CNS #150C; 12 packets). These are the questions used by college novice tournaments through the year. They are a little harder than the intramural questions and are intended for serious players in the school’s quiz bowl club who plan on traveling to tournaments during the year.
The full 2016 Division II Sectional Championship Tournament (SCT) set (16 packets). These are the questions that last year’s new teams faced at Sectionals where they attempted to qualify for the Division II Intercollegiate Championship Tournament (ICT). They are intended for use by the school’s top team (or teams) in December and January to prepare for Sectionals.
An abbreviated set of Frequency List study guides that list the works of literature, art, and music that have been frequently mentioned in NAQT’s questions since our founding in 1996. These will help team members focus their preparation for invitational tournaments, Sectionals, and (if they are successful!) Nationals. These lists are shortened versions of the full frequency lists sold by NAQT.
The new school package thus contains questions for every facet of a school’s first year “on the circuit,” from intramural teams that have never competed before to the school’s top four players who are preparing for the 2017 Sectionals. It contains a total of 53 game packets with over 2,400 questions of varying degrees of difficulty.
The total cost of the package, including shipping, is $199. If purchased separately, the total cost of the components would be $330; the new school package thus represents a 39% discount.
The new college package may be ordered either through NAQT’s online ordering system or by calling us at 1‑888‑411‑6278 (“NAQT”).
